Fragments of Eden
The exhibition Fragments of Eden offers a comprehensive insight into Saskia Groneberg’s work, spanning more than 13 years. The exhibition revolves around the fragile relationship between humans and nature, between ideal and reality, manifested within environments constructed by human hands.
Saskia Groneberg’s interest unfolds at the intersection where the artificial and the organic meet. From the cultivated greenery of the corporate world (Büropflanze) to the staged landscapes in Vesuv, Venus, or Wasserfall, and her current body of work Nachwelt—dedicated to Berlin’s cemeteries—her practice traces a line from working life to the endpoint of human existence. Groneberg’s works reveal how profoundly our relationship to nature is permeated by cultural projections, and how longing, control, and loss converge within them.
